Announcing Manic Mole!

Manic Mole

I’m excited to announce we’re working on a new game: Manic Mole! Manic Mole is an action game about running, jumping, digging, collecting coins, and avoiding traps and enemies. We’re developing the game for the Ouya, the Android-based game console that caused quite a stir on Kickstarter last year, with the aim of releasing the game in time for the console’s retail launch in June.

We can also announce now that the music for Manic Mole is being created by the amazingly talented chiptune artist Fearofdark! Check out his recent album, Motorway, for some great music and a sense of what Manic Mole will sound like.

We’ll be releasing more details about Manic Mole on the official website soon.

Micron arrives on PC & Mac via Desura

Desura Digital Distribution It took a bit of time but Micron has finally made it to PC & Mac! This version comes with 12 bonus levels (unlocked when you complete the main game) and some minor tweaks to things like controls and screen settings. If you haven’t heard of Desura it’s a lot like Steam but more friendly to indie developers. There are tons of great games on there so it’s well worth making an account if you don’t have one yet!

Cosmic Run

My 7DFPS game is called Cosmic Run. The challenge ended last Friday but I’m still working on the game. The version I submitted for 7DFPS was rough: no music, no proper title screen, no control options, control problems, performance problems… The latest version, which I’ve posted on Kongregate, fixes all these things, and I’m continuing to add to it.

The world behind you is being torn apart by a black hole. You must run forward to stay alive but evil red cubes are blocking the way! Shoot as many cubes as you can before you reach the end of the world.

Run forward and jump from platform to platform while shooting the red cubes. Your gun has a heat meter on the right. If the gun overheats you won’t be able to shoot for several seconds. Your life bar is on the left. Three hits from a red cube and you’re dead! Falling into the black hole will also kill you, of course.

Cosmic Run is primarily a score attack game. The longer you survive and the more cubes you shoot down the higher your score. Race for high scores and low scores. The high score is what you would expect. The low score is the lowest score you can get while still finishing the game (i.e. touching the goal at the end).

Pulse is now available on Android under the name Micron

After months of work on the port, which involved rebuilding the entire game in Unity, touching up all the existing levels, music, and sounds, testing and optimizing, creating new levels and music, then some more testing and optimizing, Pulse is now available for Android in the Google Play store as Micron!

Micron is also coming to iOS very soon, and maybe some other platforms too?
